If 3.50 moles of sodium chloride is added to your food, how many grams is added?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

204.8g

Explanation:

The number of moles of a substance is related to its mass and molecular mass as follows:

mole (n) = mass (m) ÷ molar mass (MM)

According to this question, 3.50 moles of sodium chloride (NaCl) is added to a food.

Molar mass of NaCl = 23 + 35.5

= 58.5g/mol

Using mole = mass/molar mass

Mass = molar mass × mole

Mass = 58.5g/mol × 3.5mol

Mass = 204.75

Mass = 204.8grams.

Therefore, 204.8grams of NaCl or common salt was added to the food.

If an object has a Mass of 11g and a volume fo 13mil, what is its density?
A.143g/ml
B.0.85g/ml
C.2g/ml D.24g/ml

Answers

Answer:

[tex]\boxed {\boxed {\sf B. \ d \approx 0.85 \ g/mL}}[/tex]

Explanation:

Density is found by dividing the mass by the volume.

[tex]d=\frac{m}{v}[/tex]

The mass of the object is 11 grams and the volume is 13 milliliters.

[tex]m= 11 \ g \\v= 13 \ mL[/tex]

Substitute the values into the formula.

[tex]d= \frac{11 \ g}{13 \ mL}[/tex]

Divide.

[tex]d=0.846153846 \ g/mL[/tex]

Round to the nearest hundredth. The 6 in the thousandth place tells us to round the 4 to a 5.

[tex]d \approx 0.85 \ g/mL[/tex]

The density is about 0.85 grams per milliliter.

6 grams of sodium chloride (NaCl) is dissolved to create 0.5 L of solution. What is the
molarity of this solution?

Answers

Answer:

0.206M

Explanation:

Molarity, which refers to the molar concentration of a substance can be calculated using the formula as follows:

Molarity (M) = number of moles (n) ÷ volume (V)

According to the provided information, mass = 6grams, volume = 0.5L

Since molar mass of NaCl = 23 + 35.5

= 58.5g/lol

Mole = mass/molar mass

Mole = 6/58.5

Mole = 0.103mol

Hence;

Molarity = 0.103/0.5

Molarity = 0.206M

Jay painted the inner four walls of a box. Then he put an ice block into it such that it did not touch the walls, but he couldn't do the same when he put water in that box. Why?

Answers

Answer:

Liquid takes the shape of container, so it will always touch the walls of the box in which you put it.

Explanation:

We know that a solid has a definite shape and a definite volume hence it occupies only its own volume in the box, it does not touch the walls of the box.

However, a liquid does not have a definite shape and volume. It occupies the volume of the box. Therefore, the liquid water must definitely touch the walls of the box.

how much thermal energy does a cup of coffee have

Answers

Answer:

a lot that's why it's really hot

Temperature is related to the average kinetic energy of jostling molecules. It is measured using a thermometer in degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. Thermal energy refers to the total energy of all the jostling molecules in the coffee. Your friends' smaller cups of coffee will have less thermal energy than the larger pot of coffee because these smaller cups contain a fewer number of moving molecules. How much heat is transferred from coffee to your mouth depends on difference in temperature between the coffee and your mouth. Your coffee will seem hotter if your mouth is colder from drinking ice water.

0.450 gram of Fe contains how many atoms?

Answers

Answer:

0.450 grams of Fe contains 4.85*10²¹ atoms

Explanation:

Molar mass is the mass of one mole of a substance, which can be an element or a compound.

In this case, the molar mass of iron Fe is 55.85 g / mole. Then you can apply the following rule of three: if by definition of molar mass 1 mole of Fe contains 55.85 grams, then how many moles will contain 0.450 grams?

[tex]amount of moles of Fe=\frac{0.450 grams*1 mole}{55.85 grams}[/tex]

amount of moles of Fe=8.06*10⁻³ moles

On the other hand, Avogadro's Number is called the number of particles that make up a substance (usually atoms or molecules) and that can be found in the amount of one mole of said substance. Its value is 6.023*10²³ particles per mole. Avogadro's number applies to any substance.

Then you can apply the following rule of three: if by definition of Avogadro's Number 1 mole of Fe contains 6.023*10²³ atoms, 8.06*10⁻³ moles how many atoms does it contain?

[tex]amount of atoms=\frac{8.06*10^{-3}moles*6.023*10^{23}atoms }{1 mole}[/tex]

1) So, the first step in finding the formula of a certain compound is to look at the periodic table and see what group they are in. The group they are in corresponds to their charge :
Group 1 has charges of 1+
Group 2 has 2+
Group 3 has 3+
Group 4 has +/-4
Group 5 has -3
Group 6 has -2
Group 7 has -1
Group 8 doesn’t form ions because they don’t react.

Do you notice a pattern? Group 4 is like the middle and both sides.

For example, lets look at the first question:
Na (Sodium) is in group 1. This means that its ions have a 1+ charge. And Cl (Chlorine) in in group 7, meaning it has a 1- charge.

2) In the next step we try to cancel out the charges by finding the lowest common multiple. But, in this case, there is no need because 1+ and 1- cancel out to have an overall charge of 0 when they are in a compound.

3) Lastly, we put the two elements together. If we multiplied it to cancel the charges in the previous step, then we need to put the number we multiplied it by in front of it.

Lets do another example:

Magnesium is in group 2, therefore it forms a 2+ ion.
Oxygen is in group 6, therefore it forms a 2- ion.
Both charges cancel out and we are left with MgO.

The next example involved the 2nd step.

Lithium is in group 1, so it forms 1+ ions.
Oxygen is in group 6, so it forms 2- ions.

In order to cancel out the charges, we have to multiply lithium by to to get Li2 with a 2+ charge.

Now the charges cancel and we can put them together to get Li2O.

Hope this helped! If you have any more questions please ask :))

Be creative (SMURFS).*Check spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc. *Use Wow Words and figurative language.*Use quotation marks to cite your evidence. Have you ever made the not-so-great decision to get revenge on someone? In the book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by Mildred D. Taylor, Cassie Logan chose to get revenge on Lillian Jean Simms. Cassie chose to do this because one day Cassie bumped into Lillian Jean and she made her apologize. After she did, Lillian Jean tried to push her off the sidewalk. Since Lillian Jean couldnt push Cassie off, her father came and pushed Cassie and forced her to apologize again. In my opinion, it was not a good idea to get revenge on Lillian Jean.The first reason that it was a bad idea to get revenge is that Cassie could be putting her whole family in danger. Charlie Simms (Lillian Jeans father) would be very angry at the Logans if he discovered his daughter got beat up by Cassie. He definitely would go after them. Cassies father also knows this. In chapter 8 he says, This here's an important decision, Cassie, veryimportant - I want you to understand that - but I think you can handle it. Now, you listen to me, and you listen good. This thing. if you make the wrong decision and Charlie Simms gets involved, then I get involved and there'll be trouble. This shows that Cassies father knows that if done wrong, Cassies revenge could have severe consequences. Also, Big Ma and Cassies mother know that something bad could happen from when Cassies uncle Hammer tried to go after Charlie Simms. In chapter 6 it states, Hammer, Cassie's all right,' she cried. Dont go making unnecessary trouble ! Cassies mother says unnecessary trouble because she doesn't want anything to happen to Uncle Hammer.The other reason why it was a bad idea to get revenge is that Lillian Jean could try to get back at Cassie. Lillian Jean might try to fight Cassie again. She was very angry at Cassie while they fought and wanted to hurt her as much as possible. In chapter 8 it states, she fought as best she could.This shows that she wanted to hurt Cassie and could possibly want to try again. She also called Cassie names. Also in chapter 8, the text states, she, expending her energy in angry, nastyName-calling and demanded an apology for all the names she had called me. This shows how rude Lillian Jean was to Cassie and probably will be rude to her again if she tries to get back at her.In conclusion, It was a very terrible idea for Cassie to get revenge on Lillian Jean in the book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by Mildred D. Taylor. If I was Cassie, I would have just left it be, no matter how angry I was. This would probably be the best way to avoid trouble. If youre thinking about getting revenge on someone, dont do it! It most likely will not end well. Please answer this correctly without making mistakes Which is the definition of a complex sentence? A) A sentence made up of one independent clause.
