1.) what are some cleaner options to produce energy? How do they work?

2.) what are the effects of air pollution on the environment and people?

Answers

Answer:

1.Solar panels, wind turbines, a solar panel works by allowing photons, or particles of light, to knock electrons free from atoms, generating a flow of electricity. A Wind turbines work on a simple principle: instead of using electricity to make wind—like a fan—wind turbines use wind to make electricity. Wind turns the propeller-like blades of a turbine around a rotor, which spins a generator, which creates electricity.

2.Air pollution can damage crops and trees in a variety of ways. Ground-level ozone can lead to reductions in agricultural crop and commercial forest yields, reduced growth and survivability of tree seedlings, and increased plant susceptibility to disease, pests and other environmental stresses (such as harsh weather).

1. Solar energy, wind turbines, water energy.
2. Pollution has a negative effect on environments and people that can lead to health issues and a decrease in biodiversity.

Describe the amphibian life cycle. Include the different phases and traits of each phase.

Answers

Answer:

Another Brainly Answer

Explanation:

The Amphibian life cycle isn't as simple as it seems. The main Amphibian that has a longer process are called Frogs. Everyone knows frogs, but they are different from most animals such as turtles. The first stage of frogs are when their in eggs of course. These eggs are called "Tadpoles" and look different than most eggs. These eggs are kept in water until they grow. Which brings me to the next stage. When the tadpoles hatch you would start to see something like a baby fish swimming around. That's still the same tadpoles you saw before just hatched. When it comes to this topic most are confused because frogs don't have tails. Well during these stages a tail is used to help them survive in the water and move around. The third stage of these interesting creatures are when they grow legs. That's when they are able to walk on land. They still have their tail of course. It still helps them swim in water. I don't understand much about why they still have a tail if they've grown legs,  but that's for me to find out soon. Eventually they grow more and more and get better with their legs and lose the tail. Well the tail doesn't just magically disappear. It's actually absorbed  by using something called apoptosis. Then it's pretty much and adult frog.

how can you explain what you know about the heavily muscled cows with what you have learned about mutations, patterns of inheritance, incomplete dominance, sexaul reproduction, selective breeding and transferring of genetic information?

Answers

Myostatin (GDF-8) is a member of the transforming growth factor β superfamily of secreted growth and differentiation factors that is essential for proper regulation of skeletal muscle mass in mice. Here we report the myostatin sequences of nine other vertebrate species and the identification of mutations in the coding sequence of bovine myostatin in two breeds of double-muscled cattle, Belgian Blue and Piedmontese, which are known to have an increase in muscle mass relative to conventional cattle. The Belgian Blue myostatin sequence contains an 11-nucleotide deletion in the third exon which causes a frameshift that eliminates virtually all of the mature, active region of the molecule. The Piedmontese myostatin sequence contains a missense mutation in exon 3, resulting in a substitution of tyrosine for an invariant cysteine in the mature region of the protein. The similarity in phenotypes of double-muscled cattle and myostatin null mice suggests that myostatin performs the same biological function in these two species and is a potentially useful target for genetic manipulation in other farm animals.

The transforming growth factor β superfamily encompasses a large group of secreted growth and differentiation factors that play important roles in regulating development and tissue homeostasis (1). We have recently described a member of this family, myostatin, that is expressed specifically in developing and adult skeletal muscle and functions as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass in mice (2). Myostatin null mice generated by gene targeting show a dramatic and widespread increase in skeletal muscle mass. Individual muscles in myostatin null mice weigh 2- to 3-fold more than those of wild-type mice, primarily due to an increased number of muscle fibers without a corresponding increase in the amount of fat. To pursue potential therapeutic and agricultural applications of increasing muscle mass by inhibition of myostatin activity, we have been characterizing myostatin in animals other than mice. Here we report that the myostatin gene is highly conserved among vertebrate species and that two breeds of cattle that are characterized by increased muscle mass (double muscling), Belgian Blue (3) and Piedmontese (4), have mutations in the myostatin coding sequence. These results demonstrate that the function of myostatin has been highly conserved among vertebrates. hope it helps

Describe the three types of mammals. Give examples of each. How is reproduction/offspring different in each?

Answers

Answer:

1) Monotremes are mammals that lay eggs. The only monotremes that are alive  today are the spiny anteater, or echidna, and the platypus. These mammals are really different from other  mammals. Their body temperature is lower than most warm-blooded animals, a  feature that has more in common with reptiles. Their name comes from the fact  that they have only one body opening for both wastes and eggs to pass through.

2)  Marsupial mammals give birth to babies that are not completely developed.  The babies are very tiny. The babies then crawl up the fur on the mother's belly  into a pouch on the outside of the mother's abdomen. The babies drink milk from  the mother and continue to develop inside the pouch. Koalas, kangaroos, wallabies,  and opossums are some of the better-known marsupials.

3)A placental mammal develops inside its mother's body until its body systems  can function on their own. The name of this group comes from the placenta, an  organ in pregnant female mammals that passes materials between the mother and  the developing baby. Food and oxygen, carried by blood, pass from the mother to  the baby through the placenta. Most mammals, including humans, are placental  mammals.

Explanation:

Extant mammals are divided into three subclasses based on reproductive techniques (monotremes, marsupials, and placentals) consisting of 27 orders. Within each order, families are organized by taxonomic relationship and distinguished by their genus and species.May 19, 2019
Example:- Koala. Although a lot of people call these animals koala bears, they are not actually born but instead are a type of marsupial. ...
Red Kangaroo. ...
Tasmanian Devil. ...
Wallabies. ...
Wombats.

Monotremes are mammals that lay eggs. ... These mammals have a pouch where their young grow and develop. Marsupials are hairy, warm blooded, and produce milk. One of the biggest differences between marsupials and placental mammals is that marsupials give birth quite early and rely less on the nourishment of the placenta.

Respiration begins when air enters the mouth and nose. As air goes down the trachea, or windpipe, tiny hairs called cilia gently wave to keep dirt and mucus out. At the bottom of the trachea are two tubes called bronchi. One bronchus goes into the left lung, and the other goes into the right lung. When you inhale, the diaphragm muscle between the lungs and abdomen contracts, making room for the lungs to expand.

Which of these best describes how the lungs and diaphragm affect each other?
