With these fires, there were many animals that were either killed or injured as they weren't able to escape the fires, and also the plants/ forests that were in those areas were burnt down and destroyed. Fires are something that are unpredictable as they can change directions within a moments notice leading to the fire fighters that are fighting it to be unprepared and put in a tough situation to try and get it under control.

With controlled burning it means that it is a planned fire in a certain area at a certain time of day that is normally picked out around the weather. With these planned burnings firefighter normally choose a day in which there will be little to no wind so that there is a less chance that the fire will unpredictable. The area that they choose it picked normally in fire hazardous areas to help prevent a fire that is unplanned from starting.

Planned burning is important to help prevent fires from starting and help keep the wildlife safe as well as homes and people. Without planned burnings there would most likely be more fires which can go on for many days causing damages wherever it travels to. Also, it is a lot cheaper for the government if they have scheduled burnings than a random fire starting as it takes more resources and time to fight off a burning fire that can change its course and continue for several days.

Overall, there is many benefits that come along with planned burnings and without them there would be most likely more fires and more damage. Also, more firefighters would be put in danger with an unplanned fire as they are placed in terrain that they aren't familiar with. Planned burnings are there for a reason and with it you would be able to help prevent the wildlife from being harmed with a little controlled burning in fire hazard areas.
