Houston Mass Murders:Henley was convicted in 1974 : 219 for his role in a series of murders known colloquially as the Houston Mass Murders, in which Dean Corll abducted, tortured, raped, and murdered at least 28 teenage boys and young men between 1970 and 1973.
Many of the victims were persuaded to Corll's house by Henley and David Owen Brooks (Corll's second teenage accomplice). On August 8, 1973, Henley, then 17, shot and killed Corll.
Henley is serving six consecutive 99-year sentences for his role in the Houston Mass Killings, which were described at the time as "the bloodiest instance of serial murders in American history." Henley is the only one of the trio left alive as a result of Henley killing Corll and Brooks dying in jail from COVID-19 in 2020.
