What do you think? Do you think urbanization should be encouraged or discouraged? Explain why you feel the way you do. (I need a 125-word essay if someone could at least give me a little something to go off of and expand into my own words that would be greatly appreciated)

Answers

I think urbanization has both upsides and downsides, but I think it should be discouraged for a few main reasons. Urbanization creates limited access to land, causing high prices in education, healthcare, food and water, housing, electricity and transport. This leads to an increase in the numbers of homeless people, or people living in insecure, rented housing. Another problem with urbanization is that growing cities lead to more traffic congestion, causing more accidents. Some more problems are presented with decreased air quality in larger cities, and defunded councils. On the other hand, some may see urbanization as a good idea because larger cities do create more job opportunities and more housing for a growing population. Overall, I don’t think urbanization is a good idea, mainly because it creates health risks, and the looming possibility of thousands homeless.

(A) When the contaminated food is eaten, the immune system prevents the harmful chemicals from entering the digestive system.

(B) The harmful chemicals enter the immune system through a break in the skin. The chemicals are then passed to the digestive system by the cardiovascular system.

(C) The harmful chemicals enter the digestive system through contaminated foods. Once in the body, the chemicals reduce the ability of the immune system to react to pathogens.

(D) The immune system transforms the harmful chemicals in the contaminated food into a different form of chemical, which is then broken down and absorbed by the digestive system.

Which arrow or arrows indicate a process that cycles carbon from living or nonliving organisms? Describe the process or processes you selected.

Which arrow or arrows represent reactions that demonstrate a conservation of mass and energy? Explain your answer.

Answers

Answer:

1. I belive number 1 is false because as shown in the picture, it is a chemical energy going out of the factory but I don't think it is going into a mechanicalm energy. This is the definiton of mechanical energy. "Mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy. It is the macroscopic energy associated with a system."

2. I belive this is true because yes, solar energy is being transfered to a chemical energy. The sun, which is the solar energy, is being transferred in phtosynthesis.

3. I belive arrow C is a release of carbon dioxide because from the factory it is releasing to the air causing climate change.

4. I belive arrow F and E because it is showing the carbonation cycle.

5. Belive B and D because it blances the mass and energy.

A proper balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide must be maintained in the human body to survive. Which of the following body systems is responsible for taking in and releasing these gases to ensure homeostasis?

A. Digestive System
B. Excretory System
C. Circulatory System
D. Respiratory System

Answers

Answer:

D. Respiratory System

Explanation:

The system acts to reverse the direction of change. Since this tends to keep things constant, it allows the maintenance of homeostatic balance. For instance, when the concentration of carbon dioxide in the human body increases, the lungs are signaled to increase their activity and exhale more carbon dioxide, (your breathing rate increases).

The system that is responsible for taking in and releasing these gases to ensure homeostasis is respiratory system. The correct option is D.

What is respiratory system?

The respiratory system soaks up oxygen from the environment humans breathe as well as remove carbon dioxide.

The lungs are basically the primary organs of the respiratory system. The nose, trachea, as well as breathing muscles are respiratory organs too.

The respiratory system encompasses the muscles that power up the lungs.

These components usually work altogether to transport oxygen throughout the body and remove waste gases such as carbon dioxide.

The lungs are the primary organs of the respiratory system. The nose, trachea, and breathing muscles such as the diaphragm and intercostal muscles are also respiratory organs.

Thus, the correct option is D.

Describe the flow of energy in a marine food web.
Include at least 5 organisms in your answer.

Answers

1. The energy flow takes place via food chain and food web. During the process of energy flow in the ecosystem, plants being the producers absorb sunlight with the help of the chloroplasts and a part of it is transformed into chemical energy n in the process of photosynthesis.

2. This means that they form a kind of cycle. The extinction of one organism can cause a ripple effect that impacts all of the species involved in that food web. This means that one organism would destabilize the whole food web. The extinction of a keystone specie might force all the organisms to adapt, because this specie is one whose presence and activities strongly affect other species. In other cases the ecosystem is the one that adapts to the lack of the organism. The extinction of species with a strong interaction in the food web occur more often that the others that do not have much interaction. In some cases the food web would be affected because some animals would not have a source of food, therefore they would not have energy. That way they would have to find another way to get the food or in extreme cases they could also get extinct. An example is like the one in the picture, if the phytoplankton dies or decreases its number, its consumers would decrease their number as well, eventually the decrease of a very tiny organism would end up to the extinction of a large organism such as the killer whale or elephant seal.

In a typical marine food chain, dinoflagellates convert energy from sunlight into food through photosynthesis and store it in their tissues.

In the human body, the nervous system provides impulses which direct muscles to move, while the contraction of muscles physically produces the movement. Which additional system determines the movement the body will make?

(A) skeletal system

(B) immune system

(C) endocrine system

(D) reproductive system

Answers

Answer:

C is the correct answer.

Explanation:

You can automatically eliminate B and D because they have little to do with the movement of the body. And it's not A because the skeletal system doesn't have the signals to tell the muscular system what to do.

I would say is A, because b & D aren't related to movement and C is your skin, hair, nails... but A is about your bones and I'm pretty sure you can't move without them

Explanation:

The cell membrane acts as a barrier that protects the cell from the external environment and it regulates the movement of the particles or substances in and out of the cell. This function is similar to the inner workings of our digestive system. The epithelial tissues in the small intestines work as a physical barrier between the intestines and other body tissues. It also breaks down the food into smaller components and selectively absorbs nutrients, which the body uses in order to perform its life functions.
