Which of these BEST describes GameOver55's point of view about video games?
A: Video games cause too many teenagers to fail out of school.
B: Video games can lead to obesity in teenagers.
C: Video games are not as much fun as playing outside.
D: Video games have negative effects on teenagers.
Answer:
The answer is D
Explanation:
Cause it's summarises the whole passage in one sentences and plus has the most suitable grammar
Answer:
D
Explanation:
The author lists several negative effects playing video games may have on teenagers. Choices A, B, and C only describe individual arguments when many are provided, and do not summarize the author's point of view.
Being less active, having fewer friends, and doing worse in school are all negative effects, so D seems logical.
It was Jilly's last day in the green house. Summer was coming to an end and so was the growing season. School would be starting next week and the fall plants were well enough along to allow Mrs. T. to manage the greenhouses herself. As Jilly worked the plants for the last time, she tried to focus on the new school year instead of the details of the greenhouse. It had been a hard, hot summer, but Jilly was not ready for it to be over.
Jilly moved down the tables, tucking a stray hair behind her ear with a gloved and already dirty hand. She'd repotted the last of the rosemary plants and mixed a new batch of potting soil already. Mrs. T. now had enough potting soil to last her through September. Jilly looked at a couple of maiden-hair ferns that were beginning to yellow in their small pots. She loved their lacey fronds and had grown concerned over the last few days that they needed repotting or a boost of fertilizer. She had also worried that she would continue to find chores that needed doing, plants that needed help, right up until the minute she left today. She hated unfinished things. She hated details not being tended to.
The sun had been above the trees and blasting the greenhouse for a good hour now. Jilly listened for the familiar whirr of the automatic vents opening. When the greenhouse reached a certain temperature, the vents would open automatically. The vents would have a cooling effect for an hour or so, and then no amount of breeze would put a dent in the heat. Mrs. T. often claimed Jilly must be part reptile as she was able to work longer in the greenhouse than anyone else. The heat just didn't bother her. In fact, Jilly often looked forward to the warmth of the greenhouse and feeling the heat seep into her bones. It felt good to her, but she understood others who found it hard to breathe in 100 degree temperatures.
Jilly heard the greenhouse door bang, and looked up from her ferns to see Mrs. T. walking down the aisle with a tray of young plants. Mums, Jilly supposed, the flowers everyone wants for fall. She had helped Mrs. T. take cuttings and plant the small stems in new pots. They were doing nicely from the look of things.
"We will keep these in here for now," said Mrs. T. "They are getting too much rain outside."
It had been a rainy couple of days. Jilly knew, as well as anyone, that overwatering could kill potted plants quickly.
"Do you remember when I overwatered those mint plants?" Jilly asked Mrs. T.
"I used to think no one could kill a mint plant," Mrs. T. said, laughing.
"Well I am full of surprises, apparently," Jilly replied. Jilly remembered the sad green plants that just kept looking more and more wilted no matter how much water she gave them. It was a beginner's mistake, and Jilly had been so embarrassed for making it.
"That you are," replied Mrs. T. "But I know you learned a lesson you won't ever forget."
"Of course. Herbs like their roots damp, not flooded," Jilly answered.
"Well that is not the lesson I was thinking of," Mrs. T. said.
Jilly wondered for a minute what the lesson could be. She straightened the rows of geraniums in front of her, picking up one or two to check for aphids under the leaves. It had been a summer full of lessons, some especially hard for a girl who thought she knew a lot about plants. She breathed deeply the warm, humid air. She hated the cooped up feeling of air conditioned air, the feeling of being cut off from the sun. She knew school and the library would offer only these uncomfortable feelings and little time to spend in the sun or with plants. She had come to understand this over the summer-her need to be around growing things was huge.
"I'm not sure, Mrs. T." she said, "I've learned so much this summer. I couldn't possibly say what you are thinking."
"You did learn many lessons, Jilly. You knew so much when you started. You've gone farther than any other assistants I've had. I will miss you."
"And I will miss you," Jilly replied. "Thank you for the opportunity and the job." Jilly watched Mrs. T. put the tray of mums down on the center row of tables. Wearing her familiar brown apron, Mrs. T. looked just as she had on Jilly's first day.
"My pleasure, of course, dear," Mrs. T. replied. "My hope for you, as for all my assistants over the years, is that you will learn as much about yourself as you do about growing plants."
Recalling her thoughts all morning, about what she enjoyed about her summer job, Jilly realized she knew much more than just how to not drown the mint.
Read this line from the narrative:
Jilly moved down the tables, tucking a stray hair behind her ear with a gloved and already dirty hand.

Text A: The doctor who gives much medicine and many medicines, who is continually changing them, and who does not insist with care on knowing all about your habits as to diet, mealtimes, sleep, modes of work, and hours of recreation is, on the whole, one to avoid.
Text B: I went to my medical man. He is an old chum of mine, and feels my pulse, and looks at my tongue, and talks about the weather, all for nothing, when I fancy I’m ill; so I thought I would do him a good turn by going to him now. "What a doctor wants," I said, "is practice." So I went straight up and saw him, and he said:
"Well, what’s the matter with you?"
Text C: One of the villagers going out to hunt took a shortcut through the choke cherry bushes. As he pushed them aside he saw the hollow grave, but thought it was a washout made by the rains. But as he assayed to step over it, to his great surprise he stumbled and fell. Made curious by his mishap, he drew back and tried again; but again he fell. When he came back to the village, he told the old men what had happened to him. They remembered then that a long time before there had been buried there a medicine woman or conjurer. Doubtless it was her medicine that made him stumble.
The story of the villager's adventure spread through the camp and made many curious to see the grave. Among others were six little boys who were, however, rather timid, for they were in great awe of the dead medicine woman. But they had a little playmate named Brave, a mischievous little rogue, whose hair was always unkempt and tossed about and who was never quiet for a moment.
Text D: The doctor walked down the driveway with the surgeon and stood for a few minutes at the gate under the maple trees that lined the sidewalk, talking earnestly. Then he went back into the house by the kitchen door. His wife met him, with the oft-repeated words, "I told you so; I said that boy would turn out of no earthly account."
"But he has turned out of some account," contradicted the doctor mildly. "In spite of this carelessness, he has been a great help to me during the last month. It was boyish ignorance more than mere carelessness that brought about this disaster. To be sure, I have cautioned him not to leave the door of the feed room unfastened. But he had no idea how a cow would make a glutton of herself if she had a chance at the bins."

D: Exergames use motion - sensor technology, which allows uses to have fun while increasing fitness.

Explanation:
1. Weather disturbances refer to any disruption of the atmosphere's stable condition.
Weather disturbances is a term used to describe atmospheric conditions and weather patterns; therefore, this statement is correct.
2. A monsoon is a seasonal of winds between the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
Monsoons are the seasonal change of prevailing (strongest) winds of a region. They usually are common in certain regions, and I do not think they happen along the equator (between Northern and Southern Hemisphere.) This statement is incorrect.
3. A tornado is a destructive, rotating column of air that has very high wind speeds and that is sometimes visible as a funnel-shaped cloud.
This statement accurately describes the tornado, a viloet rotating column of air that is in contact with the ground of the earth and a cumulonimbus cloud (in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud). They have very high wind speeds and apear like a funnel- shaped cloud. I believe this statement is correct.
4. With Public Storm Signal No. 4, very strong winds of 171-220 km/hour may be expected in at least 8 hours.
Public Storm Signal No. 4 alerts that prevailing winds of 171-220 km/hour may be expected in at least 12 hours, not 8. The statemen ths false.
5. Large thunderstorms create an "eye wall around the center where winds are the strongest and rains occurs.
The "eye wall" typically forms in the event of a tropical cyclone or hurricane, not just an everyday thunderstorm. I would say this is false.

Public storm Signal No. 2 advises all classes to be suspended and children remain in the saftey of strong buildings. This statement is true.
7. Thunderstorm is a small-scale weather system in which lightning and thunder are produced by a funnel-shaped cumulonimbus cloud.
Thunderstorms are weather systems classified by the presence of lighting and acoustic effect on the earth's atmosphere. Thunderstorms are typically produced by the cumulonimbus cloud, but they are not funnel shaped. Once clouds become funnel-shaped, they are typically a tornado. Therefore, the statement is false.
8. The destructive effects of typhoon are heavy rains, floods, flash floods and destruction of properties.
This is a correct description of the effetcs of typhoons. Flooding, viloent winds, heavy rains, tidal surges, high tides, and property destruction. This statement is true.
9. PAGASA keeps track of cyclones that enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The PAGASA monitors all weather occurances that enter this region. So this is true.
10. The source of income of farmers will be affected due to damaged crops which can result to financial crisis and difficulty in feeding their families.
This happens often in the occurance of a natural disaster. Their crops are destroyed by the severe weather, which leads to financal hardship and difficulty to provide for their families. I would say this is true.

Which sentence in the excerpt presents a counterargument?
adapted excerpt from On the Duty of Civil Disobedience
by Henry David Thoreau
Thoreau wrote this influential essay in 1849 because he was disgusted with the US government’s refusal to end slavery and with its participation in the Mexican-American War.
The practical reason why a majority are permitted to rule is not because they are most likely to be in the right, but because they are physically the strongest. Can there not be a government in which the majorities do not decide right and wrong, but conscience?— in which majorities decide only those questions to which the rule of expediency is applicable1? Why has every man a conscience, then? It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation I have is to do at any time what I think right.
How does it become a man to behave toward the American government today? I answer that he cannot without disgrace be associated with it. I cannot for an instant recognize that political organization as my government which is the slave’s government also.
All men recognize the right to resist the government when its tyranny or its inefficiency are great and unendurable. But almost all say that such is not the case now. But such was the case, they think, in the Revolution of 1775. If one were to tell me that this was a bad government because it taxed certain foreign commodities brought to its ports2, it is most probable that I should not make an ado about it, for I can do without them. But when a sixth of the population of a nation are slaves, and a whole country is unjustly overrun and conquered by a foreign army3, I think that it is not too soon for honest men to revolutionize. What makes this duty the more urgent is that fact, that the country so overrun is not our own, but ours is the invading army.
It is not a man’s duty to devote himself to the eradication of any wrong; he may still properly have other concerns to engage him. But it is his duty, at least, to wash his hands of it, and not to give it practically his support. I have heard some of my townsmen say, “I should like to have them order me out to help put down an insurrection of the slaves, or to march to Mexico,—see if I would go.” And yet these very men have each, directly by their allegiance, and indirectly, by their money, furnished a substitute. Thus, under the name of Order and Civil Government, we are all made to pay support our own meanness. After the first blush of sin, comes its indifference; and from immoral it becomes, as it were, unmoral, and not quite unnecessary to that life which we have made.

2.2 Why is the following statement FALSE? Mr M died in a car accident.
Answer:
The statement is false because Mr. M did not die in a car accident, rather he was killed by the mob outside the school.
Explanation:
The play "My Children! My Africa! by Harold Athol Lannigan Fugard is about Thami during the mid-1980s. The play focuses on the friendship of two young people, a black boy, and a white girl, and their efforts to make the world more equal.
In Act II scene iii, Thami came to the classroom to warn Mr. M not to organize the debate or take classes. But Mr. M refuses, ringing the bell at the end of each class. And despite Thami's advice and warning, Mr. M goes out to the unruly mob outside the school and gets killed.
Thus, the statement that Mr. M died in a car accident is false because he was killed by a mob outside the school and not in a car accident.

The correct answer is C. A something in the air, intangible.
Explanation
The first characteristic of iambic pentameters is that each verse contains ten syllables, this occurs in option C. "A/ some/thing/ in/ the/ air/, in/tan/gi/ble/". Additionally, the ten syllables form groups of two nouns as an iamb, which is in a stressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable, this pattern can be seen in the verse "A/ some/thing/ in/ the/ air/, in/tan/gi/ble/". This means, there are five iambs (Penta equals five). According to the above, the correct answer is C. A something in the air intangible.
