Answer 1

Slide 1Title: Morning WalkThe subject of this photograph is a man walking briskly down a street. The man's body is in motion, but his upper body is still.

Slide 2The technique I chose from this week's reading is capturing motion. To capture the motion, I used a slow shutter speed of 1/8s, which allowed me to blur the man's body while keeping his face sharp. The technique is to pan the camera with the subject in motion and keep the shutter open for an extended period. The result is a photograph that shows the motion.1. I believe I was successful in achieving my photographic goal of capturing motion. By using a slow shutter speed, I was able to blur the man's body and convey a sense of motion while keeping his face sharp.2. In future attempts, I would experiment with different shutter speeds to determine which works best for capturing motion. I would also try different compositions to make the image more visually appealing. One example from the course readings is how using diagonal lines in a photograph can convey a sense of motion. This can be seen in the photograph "Aircraft Engine," where the diagonal lines of the engine convey a sense of speed and motion (Freeman, 2017, p. 98).Reference:Freeman, M. (2017). Maisie uses a photograph of a street as she paints. She refers to the photo constantly and tries to reproduce on her canvas as exact a copy of the view of the street in the photo as she can. Maisie is MOST likely painting in which style?

A.
abstract

B.
portrait

C.
representational

D.
surrealist

Answers

Answer:

C. Maise is most likely painting in a representational style of art.

Explanation:

Abstract art does not attempt to recreate an accurate depiction of reality. Surrealist style of art blends a rational vision of life with one that distorts it such as in dreams. Portrait style of art would be of a person not a view. Maisie is painting in a representational style of art because she is basing her painting off a photo taken of a street, not changing it from how it looks in reality.
