WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!! PLEASE WRITE DOWN A PARAGRAPH! Your task in this discussion will be to discuss the effect of friendship upon the characters. You will also share the strategies you use to find textual evidence. Check out an excerpt from one of your classmate's posts.

One of the strategies I'll be using to respond to this discussion post is to closely analyze conversations between characters, especially Mary and Colin. I think you can tell so much about how characters feel about each other by looking at the words they use to speak to each other, their tone, and their responses.

Create one original post that

Uses specific examples from the text to explain how friendship changes Mary and Colin.
Explains what strategies you used to find these examples.
Create two response posts that

do you have any pictures that you can provide? i’m quite confused.

Answer: Mary and Colin are cousins. They are very similar in character, as well as life. They are both powerful, rich, they both died mothers and they were both brought up by servants. They were both the only child in the family. They behaved with the servants as if they were a prince and princess. There was not a drop of respect for the servants in them and they didn’t even say a word please either thank you. Their similarity contributed to the beginning of their friendship. They both kept secret the Mysterious Garden, the entrance to which was forbidden. The garden belonged to Colin's mother and after his death his father forbade the entrance to it. His father hated him because the boy looked like his mother and was a living reminder of her death. In the beginning the author states, that  she is : "the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen", but  she transforms and we are told that : ¨Mary had not had time to pay much attention to her changing face and in the end we can see that she is :"like a blush rose" . Her friendship with Colin and desire to help her cousin transforms her like a person and we notice the inside and outside transformation

A The Scabbard: More Than Just A Sheath

There is a place where the sidewalk ends

and before the street begins,

and there the grass grows soft and white,

and there the sun burns crimson bright,

and there the moon-bird rests from his flight

to cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black

and the dark street winds and bends.

Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow

we shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow

and watch where the chalk-white arrows go

to the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,

and we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,

for the children, they mark, and the children, they know,

the place where the sidewalk ends.

Because the overall passage doesn't describe anything at least not with descriptive words so that's why I think it's ineffective in giving imagery.

Pink Against Bullying
In 2007, a boy in Nova Scotia, Canada, wore a pink polo shirt on his first day of high school. According to students, bullies threatened the boy because of his shirt color. Two seniors, David Shepherd and Travis Price, were disturbed by the bullying and came up with an innovative response. They emailed classmates, explaining the situation and suggesting that everyone wear pink the next day. They also bought fifty pink shirts to distribute at school. When the boy who had been threatened arrived for his second day of high school, he was met by hundreds of his fellow students wearing pink. The action served as a clear anti-bullying message. Read the excerpt and then answer the question that follows.

Almost every citizen in the community had dark eyes. His parents did, and Lily did, and so did all of his group members and friends. But there were a few exceptions: Jonas himself, and a female Five who he had noticed had the different, lighter eyes. No one mentioned such things; it was not a rule, but was considered rude to call attention to things that were unsettling or different about individuals.
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Think about Jonas’ assignment as the new Receiver of Memory. Write a paragraph that explains how this assignment relates to the ideas mentioned in the excerpt and how the assignment makes Jonas feel. Be sure to use evidence from the text to support your response.
