Once upon a time three fish lived in a faraway river. They were named Itsy, Bitsy, and Fitsy.
One day they left the wild country where no men lived and came down the river to live near a town.
Fitsy said to the other two: "There is danger all about us here because fishermen come to the river here to catch fish with all sorts of nets and lines, so, let us go back again to the wild country where we used to live."
But the other two fish were so lazy and so greedy that they kept putting off going back to the wild country, letting day after day pass.
Then one day, Itsy and Bitsy swam ahead of Fitsy, but they did not notice a fisherman's net straight ahead of them and accidentally rushed right into it. Fitsy saw what happened and thought, "I must save them!"
Swimming around the net, Fitsy splashed around in the water in front of it, appearing to be a fish that had broken through the net and gone up the river. Then, he swam to the back side of the net and splashed about there, appearing to be a fish that had broken through and gone down the river.
The fisherman saw the splashing water and thought the fish had broken through the net, one escaping up river, the other down. So, he pulled in the net by one corner to check if the fish had indeed escaped, but to his dismay this allowed the two fish to escape from the net, and swim quickly away.
"You saved our lives, Fitsy," they said, "and now we are willing to go back to the wild country."
So back they all went to their old home where they lived safely ever after.

Answers

Answer 1

Three fish are swimming in a river when they notice fishermen. The fishermen use different kinds of lines and nets to trap a variety of fish. Thus, option A is correct.

The fish in the river are considered rival in consumption and non-excludable whereas the fish in the private stream are rival in consumption and excludable.

In other words, the fish in the river are example of common resource and the fish in the private stream are an example of private good.

Fishing in the river will likely lead to the tragedy of commons because anyone can fish in the river, and one person's fishing activity decreases the ability of someone else to fish with success.

What is the setting of the excerpt?
the Hales' house
a coffee shop
a courtroom
the Wrights' house
the sheriff's office
SCENE: The kitchen is the now abandoned farmhouse of JOHN WRIGHT, a gloomy kitchen, and left without having been put in order—unwashed pans under the sink, a loaf of bread outside the bread-box, a dish-towel on the table—other signs of incompleted work. At the rear the outer door opens and the SHERIFF comes in followed by the COUNTY ATTORNEY and HALE. The SHERIFF and HALE are men in middle life, the COUNTY ATTORNEY is a young man; all are much bundled up and go at once to the stove. They are followed by the two women—the SHERIFF’s wife first; she is a slight wiry woman, a thin nervous face. MRS. HALE is larger and would ordinarily be called more comfortable looking, but she is disturbed now and looks fearfully about as she enters. The women have come in slowly, and stand close together near the door.

COUNTY ATTORNEY: (rubbing his hands) This feels good. Come up to the fire, ladies.

MRS. PETERS: (after taking a step forward) I’m not—cold.

SHERIFF: (unbuttoning his overcoat and stepping away from the stove as if to mark the beginning of official business) Now, Mr. Hale, before we move things about, you explain to Mr. Henderson just what you saw when you came here yesterday morning.

COUNTY ATTORNEY: By the way, has anything been moved? Are things just as you left them yesterday?

SHERIFF: (looking about) It’s just the same. When it dropped below zero last night I thought I’d better send Frank out this morning to make a fire for us—no use getting pneumonia with a big case on, but I told him not to touch anything except the stove—and you know Frank.

COUNTY ATTORNEY: Somebody should have been left here yesterday.

SHERIFF: Oh—yesterday. When I had to send Frank to Morris Center for that man who went crazy—I want you to know I had my hands full yesterday. I knew you could get back from Omaha by today and as long as I went over everything here myself—

COUNTY ATTORNEY: Well, Mr. Hale, tell just what happened when you came here yesterday morning.

HALE: Harry and I had started to town with a load of potatoes. We came along the road from my place and as I got here I said, “I’m going to see if I can’t get John Wright to go in with me on a party telephone.” I spoke to Wright about it once before and he put me off, saying folks talked too much anyway, and all he asked was peace and quiet—I guess you know about how much he talked himself; but I thought maybe if I went to the house and talked about it before his wife, though I said to Harry that I didn’t know as what his wife wanted made much difference to John—

COUNTY ATTORNEY: Let’s talk about that later, Mr. Hale. I do want to talk about that, but tell now just what happened when you got to the house.

HALE: I didn’t hear or see anything; I knocked at the door, and still it was all quiet inside. I knew they must be up, it was past eight o’clock. So I knocked again, and I thought I heard somebody say, “Come in.” I wasn’t sure, I’m not sure yet, but I opened the door—this door (indicating the door by which the two women are still standing) and there in that rocker—(pointing to it) sat Mrs. Wright.

The setting of the excerpt from "Trifles" is the Wrights' house, option C, where a murder is under investigation and the witnesses gather to help the sheriff.

What is setting?

In literature, we call setting the context that surrounds the characters, especially the time and the place where events happen. For this question, we must analyze the setting of the short play "Trifles."

As a matter of fact, the entire play takes place at the Wrights' house, where the sheriff is investigating a murder. Mr. Wright was strangled to death, and everything seems to indicate that it was his own wife who killed him. The play has a feminist undertone. The women, who are belittled by the men, are the ones who figure out why Mrs. Wright killed her husband.

With that explanation in mind, we can conclude option C is the right answer.

Probable cause is defined as a reasonable belief that a crime has been committed, and the item or person being searched or seized is related to that crime. The level of proof required for probable cause is lower than that required for a criminal conviction but higher than a mere suspicion or hunch. Newspaper articles describe how the soldiers were viewed by Hawai'i's multicultural society - although they did not encounter the racial hatred that they had from communities on the mainland, they did not entirely escape prejudice here. Black soldiers frequently encountered strong racial prejudice from the Army hierarchy since the Buffalo Soldier units were first led by white people. Despite the fact that it prevented them from getting promoted in rank, several officers, like George Armstrong Custer, refused to lead black troops.

Even the residents of the frontier villages that the Buffalo Soldiers' regiments were defending frequently harbored animosity towards them in the West. Violence frequently broke out from this antagonism. Settlement defense efforts in hostile territory were frequently dismissed and neglected.

Building roads and taking part in pivotal military engagements like the Red River War (1874–1875) and the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish American War (1898), these black soldiers contributed to defending the country's westward migration. Studies about love at first sight say

Answers

While love at first sight may be a compelling and romantic idea, it is important to recognize that a strong initial attraction does not guarantee a long-lasting and meaningful relationship.

Studies about love at first sight suggest that this phenomenon is more about intense physical attraction than actual love. While it is possible to feel a strong connection with someone upon first meeting them, researchers have found that it takes time and repeated interactions to develop a deeper understanding and connection with a potential partner. Love at first sight can be sparked by physical attraction, which may be influenced by factors such as body language, facial features, and even pheromones. However, these initial feelings may not necessarily lead to a lasting and fulfilling relationship.

Answers

Answer:

When I was eight, my mom and I would lay on the grass staring up at the clouds. We would call out what the cloud looks like. I would normally say something funny like, "Oh look that looks like a lizard chasing a dog." My mom would say the most obvious ones, but they actually looked like what she said. We would always bring snacks to eat and a blanket to share if it got cold. We always did this once I got home from school. We would have the best conversations. I would always tell her what happened at school that day. Those were my favorite days.
