Explain the Containment Policy and was this policy a success for the United States during the Korean conflict?
Answer: Containment was the major Cold War policy of the United States and its allies to prevent the spread of communism abroad. This policy was a response to a series of moves by the Soviet Union to enlarge communist influence in Eastern Europe, China, Korea, Africa, and Vietnam. Containment represented a middle-ground position between detente (the easing of strained political relations and rollback forcing a change in the major policies of a state, usually by replacing its ruling regime. It lets the opponent choose the place and time of any confrontation. During the Cold War, it meant intervening to prevent the spread of Communism to new countries but not attacking nations that were already Communist.

Answer:
Poverty.
Explanation:
Poverty is the leading cause of most of the problems we face in America... People resort to gang violence and drug selling/ or addictions to step out of the reality they are in for one and gangs claim to provide you with protection and money.. who struggling wouldnt take that opportunity if thats all they had.
People who tend to live in poverty are surrounded by uncleanliness- intentional or unintentional but having a clean environment is usually least of their concerns. People that are okay with living in that lifestyle and are content with how they are living and do nothing to change it they usually become addicts... Then they tend to use un clean needles while SHARING THEM amongst others... and cigarettes spreading different bacteria and germs. this is how AIDS, herpes, hepatitis, syphilis, and other things spread within a group of struggling people.
Ive seen it personally. Now if i had a magic wand i would introduce them into a rehab facility and set them up with a nice roof over their heads to come home too. I wouldnt necessarily give them money because that can be used for their supply and habits but i would use that wand to supply them with nourishment, a cook book to give them something to do with themselves, a tv and internet to keep them entertained, and a recreational group that includes activities for them to put themselves in so they have something to look forward too and involvement with other healthy people to surround themselves with.
Unfortunately i dont have a wand- nor am i rich enough to put all of this into place so i will continue to protest for the rights of the unforgotten. They have gone through hell and back for all i know and some of them have no assistance or are even acknowledged of their struggles. Id like people to reach out to me and to others so they can be heard and receive the help they deserve. :)

(100 points!!!) The 1970s saw a growth in the conservative movement in politics and society. How did this
movement affect the following topics?
Women's rights
Affirmative action
Religious reawakening
Answer:
The 1970s was an age of political movement that achieved a vast amount of the freedoms Americans enjoy today. In the early years of this time period, women had secured rights to co-education in higher institutions such as college, and expanded the workforce to embrace all genders, including married women with children. However, a rise of conservatives (traditionalists), sought to block more open-minded regulations and managed to do so, or spread information to gain supporters for their cause. Regarding the Women’s movement, supporters attempted to renew the fight for the Equal Rights Amendment. This law basically stated that all genders would be seen as equal under the Constitution and further solidified the feminist agenda. Conservative women who were concerned with the stability of families and believed in specific gender roles participated in the STOP ERA. Supporters of STOP argued that the Equal Rights Amendment would take away privileges currently enjoyed by women, including "dependent wife" benefits under Social Security, separate restrooms for males and females, and exemption from Selective Services. This group organized anti-ERA rallies which ultimately prohibited the amendment from being passed. Moving forward, affirmative action was a law passed in order to reserve slots for disadvantaged students. These included African Americans, women, and other ethnic minorities. Many conservative groups did not support this movement and students, employees, and university applicants sought legal action. In a specific event, Allan Bakke, a white man seeking admission into the University of California, sued the school claiming that they rejected his application because he was of a less favorable minority group. This case advanced to the Supreme Court in Bakke v. University of California, and sparked anti-affirmative-action marches on college campuses. While conservatives did not defeat affirmative action laws, they did gain supporters and caused the system to become an ongoing issue. Finally, during the 1970s a religious awakening occurred. Evangelicalism experienced a major revival and became heavily involved in politics. This group supported concepts of pro-life, strict gender roles, and family. Evangelists used the media to spread their views and broadened the educational resources for people to learn about religion and the traditional expectations women had to fulfill. Overall conservative groups fought greatly to block the passage of progressive legislation and gained supporters in their causes. Although at times these groups did not directly prohibit the new freedoms created, their opposition sparked controversy and revived them as issues that are still fought against today.

A political cartoon is where cartoons depicting certain political issues are made. Such forms of 'propagating' political ideas were a common feature of the political scene in the United States.
Presenting images of certain political issues gave one medium of sharing propaganda. The given political cartoon titled "Shall Women Vote? No, they might disturb the existing order of things." was a creation of Samuel D. Ehrhart in 1909. The picture shows a respectable-looking gentleman standing in the middle, "Graft Politics" written on his vest. A number of tramps are on his left side, lining up to vote, which he 'bribes' one of the tramps. On the other side, on his right-hand side is shown a woman in a house with numerous children. And to show the main point, the women and the children were circled with a chain, surrounded by different images of discriminatory behavior towards women and children. This cartoon would most likely support the idea of opposing women's rights to vote. While political cartoons serve as a different source of depicting political stances, they are also at times used to spread political propaganda. The given image is also used to appeal to the opponents of women's rights as it depicts the need to refuse women the same right to vote as that of men. Thus, the correct answer is option C.
