How did Commodore Perry and the Treaty of Kanagawa change Japan?
Japan closed its ports.
Japan declared war on Russia.
Japan opened trade with the U.S.
They declared war on the U.S.

Answers

Answer 1

Explanation:

Treaty of Kanagawa, also called Perry Convention, (March 31, 1854), Japan’s first treaty with a Western nation. Concluded by representatives of the United States and Japan at Kanagawa (now part of Yokohama), it marked the end of Japan’s period of seclusion (1639–1854). The treaty was signed as a result of pressure from U.S. Commodore Matthew C. Perry, who sailed into Tokyo Bay with a fleet of warships in July 1853 and demanded that the Japanese open their ports to U.S. ships for supplies. Perry then left Japan in order to give the government a few months to consider its decision. When he returned in February 1854, the Japanese, aware that none of their armaments was a match for Perry’s warships, agreed to admit U.S. ships to the ports of Shimoda and Hakodate and to accept a U.S. consul at Shimoda. The Treaty of Kanagawa was the first of the treaties signed between Japan and other Western countries in the 19th century.

Explanation:

Answer:

because Louisiana was such an important state this cause the war to be pushed forward as the north could not aford to lose a focal point for long. because of this, the state was made a focus of the war a quickly crumbled under the pressure.

Explanation:

New Orleans, Louisiana, the largest city in the entire South, was strategically important as a port city due to its location along the Mississippi River and its access to the Gulf of Mexico, and the United States War Department very early on planned on its capture. It was taken by U.S. troops on April 25, 1862. Because a large part of the population had Union sympathies (or compatible commercial interests), the U.S. government took the unusual step of designating the areas of Louisiana then under U.S. control as a state within the Union, with its own elected representatives to the U.S. Congress. For the latter part of the war, both the Union and the Confederacy recognized their own distinct Louisianan governors.[6]
